Dell Dembosky, MD

Owner and Medical Director

A true entrepreneur Dr. Dembosky founded Marlboro Chesterfield Pathology (MCP) of the Carolinas in 1990.  His sound knowledge in medicine and successful business ventures allowed him to build a state of the art professional laboratory. He remains focused on enhancing the laboratory’s capabilities with innovative technologies and business partnerships to better serve the surrounding medical community.

“Dr. D” is a board certified pathologist from UTESA medical school in the Dominican Republic. His residencies include Monmouth Medical Center in NJ and Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington D.C. He completed his fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospital with an emphasis on Breast, Gastrointestinal and Urological pathology.

When he’s not at the lab, you’ll find this high energy family man tournament fishing or cycling across the country.

Huankai Hu, MD, PhD

Pathologist

Dr. Hu began his medical training at Shanghai Medical University in China. He completed an MS degree from Peking Union Medical College and a PhD from the Medical College of Georgia both in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.  This man of travel completed his residency at the University Hospital of Cleveland in OH and a GI pathology fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

As a teaching resident he educated others on Cytology, Electrophoresis, Frozen Section, and Grossing. Today he holds several awards and honors such as Autopsy and Gastrointestinal pathology.  His passion for Intestinal Cancer Research has led him to co-author many medical journal publications and a presenter at numerous national and local meetings. Not to mention his active membership in several professional pathology societies.

Dr. Hu continues to impact others from his unchanging desire of learning, growing and worldly travels.

Chad Rund, DO, FCAP, FASCP

Pathologist

A Midwest native of Iowa, Dr. Rund holds a MA degree from Drake University in IA and completed medical school at Midwestern University in AZ. With a Surgical and Gastrointestinal Pathology fellowship at the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in PA, he has multi-campus hospital experience in such disciplines as Cytopathology, Breast, Oropharyngeal, Prostate, Pancreatic, Liver, and Lung.

He’s served and chaired several important CAP committees on Leadership, Professional Development, and Coagulation. Over time he has guest lectured across our country on topics from Kidney Transplantation and Melanoma in NM to practicing medicine forum at House of Delegates in Washington D.C. His memorable honors were from lecturing at Drake University and his GI Abstract presentation at the U.S. and Canadian Academy of Pathology in CA. His impressive list of co-authoring publications include important topics such as Thyroid Cancer, Ovarian Neuroendocrine Cancer, Her2 Analysis, Necrotizing Fascitis, and QA Proficiency Test Programs.

Daily this heavily involved “baseball enthusiast” family man uses his technical knowledge and experience to create informative and concise pathology findings for his clinical colleagues and patients.

Jennifer Clebanoff, MD, MA

Pathologist

Dr. Clebanoff has a long history of academic research along with strong fellowships in Cytopathology at UCLA, CA and Gastrointestinal & Liver Pathology from Washington University & Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St Louis MO. Her Master’s degree in Medical Science and Medical degree are both from Boston University, MA. She holds board certification in anatomic and clinical pathology.

With research experience in intestinal hyperplastic polyps and KRAS mutation detection along with major publications on Pancreatic FNA, Prostate pathogenesis, and Urothelial Carcinoma, it’s no wonder why she was honored with the Leaonard S. Gottlieb award in Pathology.

Her passion for knowledge and accuracy in medicine carries over to her interest in photography and as a skilled violinist. For over 30 years she has performed in symphonies and orchestras from coast to coast.

Junwei Chen, MD, PhD

Pathologist

A former resident of China, Dr. Chen has the most noted co-authored publications than all our pathologists. These range from Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors, Cancer stem cell markers, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, and Coagulation therapy.

Dr. Chen received his PhD and Medical degree from Sun Yat-sen University, China. Later he achieved his postdoctoral in physiology & cell biology at the University of Nevada, NV and Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, NY. He is also a graduate from Rutgers University medical school in NJ where he received his board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.

A traditional family man that enjoys the outdoors, especially tennis and camping with tunes from his guitar by the campfire.
